Basic all grain home brewing kit

Mash Tun

When I started with home brewing I did not have any equipment so I had to buy everithing. In this post I will write about basic all grain home brewing equipment.

Most basic thing everybodey need to have for all grain home brewing is Mash tun. Mashing allows the enzymes in the malt to break down the starch in the grain into sugars, typically maltose to create a malty liquid called wort.

Next piece of equipment every home brewery need to have is brewing kettle. For brewing 5 gallons of beer you need to have at least 8 gallons brewing kettle.

The Hot Liquor Tank (HLT) is used to heat water.

You also need fermenting vessel, fermentation lock or airlock, thermometer and hydrometer ( an instrument used to measure the specific gravity of liquids).
There is much more equipment one can use for home brewing but this is basic everyone should have for all grain home brewing.
